Methods Separation was performed on Waters ACQUITY UPLCTM BEH C18 (2.1 mm × 50 mm, 1.7 μm), the mobile phase consisted of methanol-0.1% formic acid in water (60:40); The identification of impurities in butylphthalide was performed with a triple-quadrupole mass spectrometer, with an electrospray ionization (ESI) source in the positive ion mode. Results All the impurities were deduced based on the MS fragment pathways of butylphthalide, a total of three compounds were characterized.
